This conference is for physicians, nurses, EMS and ancillary staff who care for the traumatically injured patient covers current evidence-based practice in the care of specific trauma mechanisms of injury (MOI) and innovative technology that are most commonly seen at OhioHealth’s three American College of Surgeons accredited trauma centers. These MOIs include falls, motor vehicle crashes and assaults for both Grant Medical Center and Riverside Methodist Hospital, and falls, motor vehicle crashes and motorcycle crashes for Mansfield Hospital.



Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify innovations in trauma care utilized at OhioHealth's trauma centers.
  2. Discuss the care of the orthopedic trauma patient.
  3. Identify the pitfalls of trauma triage in disaster situations.
  4. Discuss the care of special populations in trauma.
