This conference spans two days. The target audience is physicians, nurses, EMS and ancillary staff who care for the traumatically injured patient. The content delivery is didactic, case studies and audience response and will reflect current EBP in the care of specific trauma mechanisms of injury that are most commonly seen at OhioHealth's three American College of Surgeons accredited trauma centers. These MOI include falls, motor vehicle crashes and assaults for both Grant and Riverside and falls, motor vehicle crashes and motorcycle crashes for Mansfield. We will also be incorporating innovation technology into the evidence-based care of the trauma patient.


Objectives

After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
  1. 1. List post discharge rehab interventions for the care of the patient with a traumatic hand injury.
  2. 2. Describe challenges to pre-hospital care in the rural setting.
  3. 3. List the signs and symptoms of a concussion.
  4. 4. Describe interventions used in the care of the patient experiencing a traumatic airway injury.
  5. 5. Identify current innovations in car safety.
