OT-Rehabed-Understanding Gender

This course will provide a better understanding of Gender, allowing for decreased health disparities resulting from discrimination and non-inclusivity of care.  The history of LGBTQ+ discrimination including in healthcare, the impact on health resulting from this discrimination, and review of implications for healthcare practice will be reviewed.

1. 1. Understand and differentiate between gender identity, gender expression, and sex assigned at birth
2. 2. Identify the historical and current stigma and discrimination faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly in healthcare settings
3. 3. Learn practical steps to create an inclusive environment
