This two-day annual symposium is intended to bring together neurosurgeons from all over the world to discuss the current guidelines and future of neurosurgical care. We intend to investigate solutions to challenges of practicing neurosurgery in various parts of the world and will also discuss difficult cases. The goal is that each attendee will expand their neuroscience knowledge base, become more familiar with current management guidelines in neurosurgery, have a forum to discuss difficult cases and be able to provide better quality care upon return to their practices.


Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the challenges of providing neurosurgical services in a developing country.
  2. Recognize the various surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for numerous spine disorders.
  3. Discuss the barriers to neurosurgical training in Africa.
  4. Discuss management of various spine tumors.
  5. Discuss surgical management options and issues related to brain tumor and neurovascular surgery.
