Recent events, including the COVID-19 epidemic and the need for the advancement medical care in populations that in the past were underserved or unknown,  has brought to light the disproportionate access to medical that we face in America. As a medical community, we strive to provide the best quality of care to those we serve. Part of that delivery of care require knowledge, trust, competence and building of life-long relationships in all communities despite the potential barriers that may exist. This course will look into the history of disparities in health care, who they impact and what we can do as a rehab community to assure that the mission and vision that we as rehab professionals hold true to will impact the communities in which we serve.
