SLP-RehabEd-The Traumatic Brain Injury Continuum of Care

This 2-hour course will provide participants with the knowledge necessary to understand traumatic brain injury classification as well as recovery projections.  The course will review the definition and recent evidence regarding the prevalence and prognosis of those who have sustained a TBI including the rehabilitation progression.  Through the use of lecture presentation, participants will learn signs and symptoms common to TBI and best referral practice in the current medical system. Symptom management will be presented as it pertains across the continuum of care.

3. Identify diagnosis complications and symptom management options from a medical perspective
4. Identify diagnosis complications and symptom management optiosn from a medical perspective
5. Demonstrate knowledge of referral patterns and treatment options for traumatic brain injury management.
6. Demonstrate knowledge of referral patterns and treatment options for TBI management
7. Demonstrate knowledge of signs and symptoms that may complicate or prolong recovery.
8. Demonstrate knowledge of signs and symptoms that may complicate or prolong recovery
