Local Anesthetic Systemic Toxicity (LAST) can occur when medications are administered via the wrong route or systemic absorption occurs due to patient factors. ISMP has identified a delay in administration or improper use of antidotes, reversal agents, and rescue agents as a patient safety concern. We will review where local anesthetics are used, signs and symptoms of LAST and how lipids are utilized as a rescue medication. Discussion of lipid emulsion use as a rescue medication in other toxicological emergencies will be briefly mentioned. OhioHealth has an comprehensive antidote list on esource.   1. Recognize signs and symptoms of LAST
