Separate CME will be awarded for each part. 1. A special presentation of the documentary "Power to Heal: Medicare and the Civil Rights Revolution" (56 minutes). 2. A live, virtual Q&A with Barbara Berney, PhD, MPH, producer of the documentary, on Friday, June 25 from 12-1pm. A video re-cap of the presentation will be shared after the event for those who can't attend the virtual live event. After registering, participants will be emailed a link to watch the documentary at their convenience and then a calendar invite to attend the virtual Q&A.



Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Review the history of segregated healthcare in America and the anti-segregation activities, the key moments and players that saw healthcare evolve to the present state.
  2. Discuss the current state of healthcare for Black Americans and other minorities and where greater progress is needed.
  3. Recognize the needs of Black and other minority patients and consider what you can change to improve the quality of care delivered to them.
  4. Discuss the future of healthcare for Black Americans and other minorities and what needs to happen to reverse inequalities in care.
