This event will provide education for the assessment and treatment of dementia, as well as information on recommended referral pathways, for primary care physicians and advanced practice providers.  


Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss definitions, classifications and underlying pathophysiology of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
  2. Evaluate Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias with the appropriate assessment techniques.
  3. Manage medications for patients with these disorders.
  4. Recognize comorbidities and complications for patients with these disorders and address changing medical needs.
  5. Discuss the indications for neuropsychological testing and when to refer for evaluation.
