HRO Leadership Skills Education- This session will provide an overview of High Reliability Principles and the three core leadership strategies needed to build a culture of safety and achieve zero harm at OhioHealth.


Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Summarize the importance of leaders demonstrating safety as a core value, delivering compelling safety messages, and actively showing support for those who speak up for safety.
  2. Explain how leaders in a High Reliability Organization (HRO) find and fix system problems that prevent safe and reliable practice by optimizing the huddles, utilizing visual management tools, and methods for analyzing and learning from errors, events, and near misses.
  3. Describe the High Reliability Organization (HRO) leadership methods for building and reinforcing accountability using 5:1 Feedback, 4C rounding, and a Fair & Just Culture decision tool.
  4. Explain how high-reliability leadership practices can drive safe, effective, compassionate care in the complex healthcare delivery environment.
