This one-day course on-line course will focus on non-pharmacological and evidence-based approaches for care of persons with dementia (PWD) across multiple disciplines, to include disease symptoms, behaviors, triggers and progression. The risks and benefits of commonly prescribed medications, as well as alternative approaches to medication compliance and administration, will be discussed. Rehabilitation therapists will share communication and dysphagia strategy approaches along with education related to driver evaluation.

Occupational Therapy Continuing Education credits is pending final approval.
