Promote a coordinated, interdisciplinary approach to the management of the cardiovascular (CV) patient through evidence-based best practice. Develop, monitor and analyze indicators related to process of care in CV Services. Develop baseline studies to identify areas for improvement. Provide outcomes data specific to CV services. Review the STEMI system scorecard and advise on indicators not meeting target. Identify topics related to CV services for educational interventions. Review STEMI cases to identify opportunities for improvement. Promote communication among Cardiology Staff, ED and various disciplines regarding implemented changes in policy, procedure, or process related to CV services.


Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Develop protocols/standards of care as determined by evidence-based best practice.
  2. Revise the practice of caring for patients with STEMI.
