This two-day event will feature several of OhioHealth Grant Family Medical Center's excellent physicians and graduates. This activity is designed to improve patient care by providing current information and advances in the evaluation, diagnosis, and management for common medical problems encountered in primary care medicine.


Objectives
After completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. 1. Discuss weight loss strategies as a means of decreasing other medical co-morbidities.
  2. 2. Review the newest diabetes mellitus medications.
  3. 3. Summarize the most recent geriatric treatment guidelines.
  4. 4. Discuss how team based care can improve outcomes in groups of patients sharing a medical diagnosis.
  5. 5. Review updated CHEST guidelines for the use of thromboembolic prophylaxis with novel anti-platelet therapies.
  6. 6. Review the latest state of Ohio opioid prescribing guidelines and identify strategies for effective treatment of acute and chronic pain.
