Timothy Rust, MD

Timothy J. Rust, MD, ABPN, is a board-certified neurologist with a special interest in neuromuscular disorders (including neuropathy and myasthenia gravis), electromyography (EMG) testing, and nerve conduction studies. He is part of OhioHealth Physician Group and practices at the Chatham Lane office.

Dr. Rust completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at Kenyon College before continuing on to Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine for medical school. Following medical school, Dr. Rust completed his internal medicine internship and neurology residency at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. While there, he also completed a clinical neurophysiology fellowship, which allowed him to focus on EMG, nerve conduction studies, and the management of neuromuscular disorders. During his residency, Dr. Rust was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, served as the Chief Resident for the Department of Neurology, and received the David Kotlarek Award for Excellence in Compassionate Patient Care.

Dr. Rust enjoys meeting new patients and getting to know them while taking care of their neurological concerns. A member of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine, he was drawn to the field of neurology by the fascinating inner workings of the central and peripheral nervous systems and the opportunity to form close, personal relationships with his patients. He has been involved in clinical research concerning treatments for myasthenia gravis.

A Columbus native and avid Buckeye fan, Dr. Rust, his wife, and children currently reside in Columbus where he enjoys running, hiking, cycling, photography, and travel.
