2018 OhioHealth Annual Quality Retreat

The Annual OhioHealth System Quality Retreat is an all-day conference focusing on key elements of safety programs and the impact on patient outcomes, US Healthcare System spending and the impact on private and public sector initiatives. Topics for the two breakout sessions include:  resilience, building successful partnerships to improve patient safety, healthcare quality and affordability, understanding the statistical methodology used to interpret OhioHealth data and the OhioHealth scorecard, LEAN management principles focusing on PDSA, QikSense and MIDAS foundation training to improve user functionality in accessing and interpreting data.

1. Identify why robust data collection is critical to achieving the best safety outcomes
2. Identify the importance of systematically applying an improvement methodology to improve safety outcomes
3. Identify the importance of establishing a patient safety evaluation system and working with a Patient Safety Organization (PSO) in establishing a just learning culture and accelerating improvement
4. Assess the U.S. health care spending trajectory and the impact on the middle class by 2030
5. Identify two interventions to reduce health care spending in the U.S: waste reduction and price reduction
6. Identify 4 possible paths to price reduction involving private and public sector initiatives
